Vicki Lorman, one of our dear friends is in dire need of help, along with her husband John, and their little service dog, Lucy, a Dachshund.

Eight months ago one of her legs had to be amputated, due to a rare bone disease that literally turned her bones to mush. Her other leg horribly deformed and worsening daily needs surgery. She also suffers from diabetes, fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome (RLS) which causes constant pain, twitching and jumping of limbs at night, severe migraines. Her good leg needs surgery but she can’t have it done, due to the fact that she is solely reliant on an orthotic leg, and a wheelchair. Vicki also needs cataract surgery on both eyes.
There are other problems medically as well. Vicki’s husband John was diagnosed 5 years ago with Leukemia (blood cancer). John has also been diagnosed as having Pancreatitis, Parkinson’s disease, Diabetes, and thyroid issues, along with many more medical issues. They are currently like a tag team trying to care for one another. They have no in home medical care, and they are BARELY surviving on Social Security, watching every penny they spend to survive. |
Now they have no A/C, with temps up to 101 degrees heat in Southern California Vicki is glad to be in hospital at least she has A/C. Her husband and Lucy, their female Dachshund, are staying at John’s mothers house due to the fact that they have no A/C in their home.
While we can’t help with the medical problems, I hope that we can at least help them provide a livable environment for little Lucy. Therefore, the purpose of this auction is to provide her with air-conditioning, whether it be repair of their central air unit, or purchase of a couple of window units, she needs our help. We certainly don't want her to die of heat stroke.
