For convenience in viewing and bidding, please utilize the auction album This auction is being held, literally to the save the life of a gorgeous little Doxie pup. No ifs, ands, or buts, without surgery, he will die. He cannot survive without a functioning liver. The auction is scheduled to end at 9:00 PM, EDT, Thursday May 3. Bentley is 20 weeks old, and has recently been diagnosed with a liver shunt, which is a birth defect. Bentley became ill when he was 8 weeks old. It took several trips to the vet and a lot of tests, to get him diagnosed. Let me explain the type of liver shunt Bentley has. There is a vein that runs alongside of the liver instead of into the liver. The liver cleans the toxins out of the blood but in Bentley’s case the toxins are going into his body because the blood is not being cleaned. Unfortunately Bentley needs a life saving surgery immediately due to the size of his liver. Because the liver isn’t working 100 percent, his liver is getting smaller. The smaller his liver gets, the greater the unlikelihood that it will be able to handle the amount of blood flow after the shunt is tied off. Bentley has pet insurance but unfortunately it won’t pay for the surgery because the condition started before the insurance policy went into affect. |
